There is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Practice Manager to join the Ardrossan practice in a full-time or part-time (0.8) capacity. You'll join a close-knit team in providing tailored support to the General Practitioners, and providing exceptional customer service and care to their patients. This position will suit someone who is currently living in or looking to relocate to the local area.
**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Practice Manager is a senior member of the practice team, primarily responsible for overseeing the practice staff and the day-to-day running of the practice.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Recruitment, development and management of clinical and non-clinical staff
- Maintaining rosters and work schedules and approval of training, leave and staff hours
- Strategic planning in consultation with senior management
- Preparation of budgets and annual plans to meet the objectives of the practice
- Oversee doctor billing, patient charges, Medicare cheques, and daily banking for accuracy
- Review and develop policies and procedures, in consultation with senior management
- Review and develop the annual marketing plan
- Asset maintenance, including the scheduling of maintenance and maintaining equipment registers.
- Regular reporting to senior management
- Hold and run regular practice meetings
- Perform reception duties alongside the practice team
**About You**:
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:
- Prior experience in in medical practice management, preferred
- Prior experience in leadership and team building
- An understanding of commercial business principles
- Strong interpersonal skills
- The ability to devise and review systems for operational efficiency and control
- An understanding of employment laws
- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Preferred knowledge:
- Understanding of General Practice Accreditation
- Understanding of the requirements for General Practice training, vocational registration, continuing medical education (CME) and quality assurance
- Understanding of medico-legal issues
- Understanding of the roles of the AMA, RACGP, Medical Board and Health
- Services, complaints commissioner with regard to patient complaints
- Demonstrate understanding of medical terminology
- Understanding of the limitations of the role of Practice Nurse
