- Job Description
- NSW Government Department seeking an experienced Communications Lead to join the team on an initial 12-month contract. As part of a small, high performing communications team working on a large and complex multi-year program, the position is primarily responsible for developing, delivering and driving communication strategies that support the Program's strategic plan and objectives.
- Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement integrated communication strategies and delivery plans across key Program priority areas - including those focused on internal Program audiences as well as key external audiences (staff in Clusters and Agencies, Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries across NSW Government Clusters, NSW Government Ministers and the media)
- Develop and evolve the Program communications plan to reflect the stages of the Program and align to the change strategy and key Program milestones
- Provide strategic advice and counsel and hands-on support to Program executives and leaders around messaging, narrative, engagement and communications strategy and appropriate delivery methods
- Build strong engagement and maintain relationships with all stakeholder groups in support of the Program's vision and objectives
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in communications delivering corporate and internal communications within a large and complex organisation. Ideally you will have 10+ years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a government setting and/or a program / project environment
- Exceptional influencing and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability in supporting and advising executive level stakeholders within an organisation
- Superior strategic and critical thinking skills with experience reviewing executive level communications, event materials and other strategic documents
- Strong media management and writing / editing skills
- Demonstrated Plain English and accessibility knowledge and skills and a passion for clear and creative communications
- High-level visual communications experience with the ability to advise and review video scripts and content as well as presentation materials
- Proven experience in SharePoint for the development and ongoing management and maintenance of a full intranet site
