Seeking a Materials Manager for a Government opportunity | Casual Engagement

**Your new company**

A Government department is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to undertake logistics function and oversee the movement of materials for a major project. You will be engaged on a casual arrangement, working hours during the week and weekends. You will be required to work at either a site in Morley or Welshpool, working on a competitive hourly rate, plus penalties.

**Your new role**

As the Materials Manager you will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency by managing project materials and supervising a team. Your duties will include:

- Manage the packaging, movement and storage of project materials
- Oversee and facilitate process for receipt, preparation, distribution and security of project materials
- Coordinate logistics for dispatch of project materials
- Interpret and record reports on the movement of materials, keeping record on all documentation
- Supervise temporary workforce members, providing instructions, advice, feedback and mentorship as required
- Liaise with couriers as needed

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to be considered for this role, you will demonstrate previous experience in managing and leading a team or a project. In addition, you will have:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- General knowledge and understanding on Work Health and Safety principles
- The ability to make sound decisions in line with the department's policies and procedures
- Strong physical fitness with the ability to lift 15kgs
- A full and current drivers license with access to a vehicle
- Have or be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate
- An Australian Citizenship
- Strong IT skills with experience using MS Office Word, Outlook and Excel
