**The role and what we are looking for**

The Group Manager - Data will be responsible for leading the development of Capricorns data strategy, setting the framework that underpins how the business uses data to drive improvement in our products, services and experiences. This role leads a team of data scientists and analysts to deliver actionable insights across the organisation to unlock the full potential of our data.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and deliver Capricorn's data strategy to ensure we collect, organise and act on data to meet our business goals and unlock new value for the organisation.
- Lead the development and implementation of the data analytics program for the Capricorn group, delivering analytical insights and recommendations to enable timely and informed decision making.
- Perform a wide range of data analysis, from simple to complex, continually developing tools and techniques to deliver business outcomes.
- Steer the development of streamlined reporting, summarising and coherently presenting data outputs and complex ideas, including meaningful data visualisations.
- Acquire an in-depth knowledge of Capricorn data and share this knowledge with others around the business, ensuring that data is utilised appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive data education, capability and outcomes across the Group.
- Contribute to the development of annual and longer-term business plans.
- Lead, coach and develop a team, ensuring individuals have clarity of team and individual goals, accountabilities and responsibilities.
- Foster a culture open to change and support continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability.

**Experience**
- Extensive experience in data analytics, data mining, reporting and presenting complex data.
- Demonstrated experience leading people and managing resources to deliver objectives.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Science or related discipline.
