Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health globally, tackling mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
**About the role**
You will primarily contribute to the expansion of a robust men's population health evidence base at Movember, and report on Movember's impact on men across the Programs portfolio. Additionally you will contribute to building strong monitoring, research & evaluation (MRE) foundations within the business that support the organisation's Impact Strategy.
You will play a key role in providing intelligence to inform decision making across the business to keep Movember up to date with current and future population trends and the impacts we have made on men. A key aspect of the role is as a data translator and relationship builder with internal and external business partners. This role supports Movember to be a thought leader in men's health across the broader community.
Due to parental leave, this position is being offered on a full-time fixed term contract (12 months). You will work flexibly, blending your time between home and our Richmond office. You will be responsible for managing external independent contractors (where necessary) such as epidemiologists or statisticians.
**You'll have the opportunity to**
- Source, monitor, synthesise, interpret and present the health status data of populations, determinants of disease, or other influencing risk factors that impact the populations within Movember's (current and potential) geographical regions.
- Ensure complex information is translated in a format that is understood and accessible by different functional areas of the organisation.
- Critically analyse population level health data to address hypotheses and research questions related to Movember's cause areas across its geographical regions. To address gaps and conduct or contract research where sufficient data is not available.
- Review and/or source measures and contribute to the development of an Outcomes Framework that aligns to the Impact Strategy, including establishment of suitable benchmarks and targets.
- Manage the maintenance and expansion of the MoStats tool with epidemiological data and added functionalities in response to business needs. MoStats is a bespoke tool which presents epidemiology data in a variety of formats (statements, maps, tables) that all Movember staff can use when data or statistics are needed for marketing, fundraising or program purposes.
- Manage the development of a strategic theory of change for Movember, plus other Portfolio level theories of change as required.
- Collaborate with Programs teams to report Movember's impact in a format and voice suitable to a range of different target groups including board and committee members, fundraisers and supporters, other health organisations, policymakers.
- Build on the existing legacy work already undertaken in investigating, collating and reporting on the impact of projects/programs Movember has funded in the past.
**For this role, you'll need**
- Tertiary qualifications (Masters or PhD preferred) in Epidemiology, Public Health, Psychology, Statistics or other related discipline.
- Experience in public health, health promotion, applied epidemiology, biostatistics, health research and/or evaluation, implementation science or a related discipline.
- Experience in public health data monitoring and analysis across at least one of Movember's core markets (Australia, UK, US, Canada, New Zealand and Ireland).
- Experience in quantitative research methods.
- Experience in communicating research and/or data findings to a range of audiences using a variety of mediums and channels.
- Excellent time management, project planning skills and ability to meet deadlines.
**Bonus points for**
- Experience in oncology/cancer biology and/or survivorship research
- Experience in mental health and suicide research
- Experience in global monitoring and analysis of population data
- Affiliation with a university
**Why Movember?**
Our employee benefits include:
- Flexible hybrid working from home and our modern Richmond office
- Finish work at 2pm on Fridays (Dec-Aug)
- NFP salary packaging (pay less tax)
- 13 weeks paid parental leave and 5 weeks annual leave
- Fun & collaborative culture with employee social events
- $1000 annual learning & development allowance
- Free Headspace subscription and other wellbeing initiatives
