**The Role**
This is a rare opportunity for a talented and driven video journalist to cover Tasmania for SBS News. Preferably based in Hobart, you will take the lead in covering stories in Tasmania that are of national interest.
Supported by a strong editorial team you will be able to write, report, shoot and edit your own TV stories. You will also be required to provide creative content across all of our news platforms including radio and digital.
You'll be part of a team which delivers cross platform stories of the highest editorial standards that highlight Australia's multicultural nature and celebrate diversity.
**About you**
- Experience as a video journalist
- A high level of journalistic and live reporting skills
- An ability to initiate and develop story ideas and build a strong contact base
- Knowledge of and connections to Tasmania's diverse communities
- A passion for TV and digital news and understanding of SBS Radio
- Experience in filing for multiple platforms
- An understanding of the television production process
- An ability to travel for breaking news coverage and work a 7 day roster is essential
