**About the role**:
Join us as the Eraring Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Plant Operations Lead and be at the forefront of maintaining and operating cutting-edge energy storage technology In this key role, you will lead a small team to plan, coordinate, and safely execute the operation and maintenance of our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Facility, ensuring its economic operation, reliability, efficiency, and optimised performance.

You'll also be instrumental in developing our fleet BESS Operational and Maintenance Capability by coaching and developing our Gas and Renewable Plant Technicians. Additionally, you'll support and be during involved the construction phase of the BESS Project, and after the project is complete, you will become the site responsible BESS Operations Lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME).If you're passionate about renewable energy and excited about leading a team in a rapidly evolving industry, this is the perfect opportunity for you Join us and make a significant impact on the future of energy storage.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and actively participate in Origin Energy's HSE systems.
- Develop and coordinate Operations Readiness plans, support seamless asset integration, and prepare asset-specific operations documentation.
- Lead, train, and coach Plant Technicians in maintaining and operating BESS infrastructure, including scheduled maintenance and safety procedures.
- Manage and supervise maintenance activities, including coordination with third-party contractors and leading Permit to Work (PTW) processes.
- Provide leadership and technical advice, lead incident analysis, and promote continuous improvement in processes and systems.
- Prepare and manage operational and capital budgets, champion key plant areas, and participate in asset acquisitions and new development projects.

**What will you bring?**
- Ability to coordinate work while coaching and mentoring.
- Experience in maintenance and operations planning and execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience in HV (High Voltage) Switching.
- Experience with Permit to Work systems.
- Familiarity with data acquisition and SCADA systems.
