Reporting to the Manager, Digital Mental Health, the Mental Health HIE (Health Information Exchange) Workstream Lead will have responsibility for planning and designing the expansion of the Victorian Health Information Exchange to include mental health requirements as stipulated in the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act.
This work is being delivered in response Recommendation 62.1c of the Royal Commission into the Victorian Mental Health System (RCVMHS). This role is a critical enabler of the Victoria's mental health reform agenda. The program will enable the provision of, and access to, a single shared view of the person being cared for. This will help consumers and carers to actively manage their treatment and care, and support service providers in the safe management and transfer of care.

Key accountabilities
- Plan and design mental health information sharing arrangements to be supported by the Health Information Exchange.
- Translate requirements for information sharing of critical consumer information, and requirements for consent driven approaches to information sharing, into business models and business rules to support the overall design of the HIE solution.
- Forge strong connections across the department and with external stakeholders in the Mental Health Sector to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Remove roadblocks, manage interdependencies across projects, review tenders, and collaborate with key stakeholders.
- Provide strategically aligned advice on service implementation and deployment approaches, decisions, budgets, resources and related project governance processes.
- Ensure the department and the mental health sector are aware of current progress and issues, and are notified of future plans by managing, controlling and reporting status of current work and future plans.
- Working with the project managers and operational staff, ensure the project is delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in providing advice to stakeholders and assisting in the preparation and presentation of reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet, and agency submissions on a range of matters.
- Identify, manage, monitor and report on high priority issues and risks impacting on projects.
- Provide expert and authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative options and solutions to highly complex and sometimes sensitive issues, to an executive audience as necessary.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures
