Discover it for yourself: the roleOur hardware engineering team is focused on simulating, designing and developing electronic circuits for advanced navigation technologies utilising analogue, digital, RF and optoelectrical circuit design.
This role contributes throughout the entire design phase from prototype to development, and through manufacturing, for complex multidisciplinary products.
You will be joining a diverse team of skilled electronic, mechatronic and photonics engineers to develop high-performance mixed signal hardware for our portfolio of products.What you'll doDesign analogue signal chain processing circuits (filters, amplifiers, etc.), digital signal circuits including high-speed interfacesDevelop mixed signal processing chains (ie A-D and D-A)Create PCB schematic designs and layouts using Altium DesignerSimulate and optimise circuits in LTSpiceCollaborate with embedded software team to ensure hardware designs meet software requirementsIdentify a clear scope of work, and communicate progress through consistent updates to leadership and fellow team members while working to find and mitigate risksDesign and modify basic 3D CAD models for fit, function and manufacturabilityDocument your design work, such as: specifications, compliance matrices, design calculations, analysis reports, drawings, test plans, test reports and BOMsInstigating and leading design reviews, test readiness reviews and production readiness reviewsDocumenting all engineering designs, tests and investigation work (Confluence) to a high standard as part of the peer review processPeer review others work to ensure cross checking is performed and documentedDesign for Manufacturing and Assembly using sound engineering methodologiesWorking with the manufacturing and support teams to deliver and maintain hardware equipment and systemsDeveloping assembly, repair and test techniques, sourcing of alternates to obsolete parts and materials, and testing as per appropriate engineering specificationsQualifications, skills and experienceBachelor degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering and/or mechatronicsSignificant experience in designing and developing complex electronics with specific experience in precision analogue data acquisition, processing, and high speed digital circuitsProficient in using industry standard tools such as SPICE, Altium DesignerExperience in releasing multiple high volume products to marketA track record of turning high level discussions into detailed, personal work plans and reporting progress to managementProficient in using and promoting industry standard design engineering principles and practicesA proactive self-starting approach with a track record of initiative, personal responsibility, ownership of work and reputation for making things happenBe highly motivated with an energetic, responsive and decisive dispositionStrong knowledge of WHS practicesProven high standard of attention to detail, time management and "follow-through"Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with STM32 microcontrollers and/or Xilinx SOC/FPGA and/or Microsemi FPGA products is desirable#J-18808-Ljbffr
