Job DescriptionVeterinary Nurse | Dermatology for Animals | Part Time & Full Time PositionsEstablished in 1998, Dermatology for Animals provides the veterinary dermatology service within the majority of specialist multi-disciplinary veterinary hospitals across Queensland.We are now looking for Part-time and Full-time veterinary nurses to join our expanding team of veterinarians, nurses and administrators in south-east Queensland.We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced nurse, who wants to excel in providing first rate nursing care, and who is capable across the broad range of skills that encompass veterinary nursing in a dermatological environment.
This not only involves utilising patient nursing skills, but also learning about new techniques, becoming competent in dermatological diagnostics, and communicating with clients both in person, by phone and by email.Veterinary dermatology is unique amongst referral disciplines in fostering long-term relationships with clients and patients.
It's less about fixing our patients and sending them on their way, and more about managing their issues so that they and their owners can live their best lives.
It's also unique in that dermatology rarely presents with genuine emergencies, and this allows us all to have an enviable work-life balance.In this role you will have the opportunity to travel across metropolitan and regional Queensland, providing dermatology referral services within specialist multi-disciplinary veterinary hospitals.WHAT WE CAN OFFER Part-time and Full-time position availableThe opportunity to work with internationally renowned leaders in veterinary dermatologyTraining in dermatology specific diagnostic techniquesAssisting in the use of cutting-edge technology including:CO2 and diode lasersMRI and CTVideo-otoscopyThe ability to hone your communication skills during nurse specific consultationsAn above award wage commensurate with experienceA four-day working week once probationary and training periods are completeNo out of hours workWHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLEAn enthusiasm for learning, and an understanding that there's still a lot we don't knowThe flexibility to move from one aspect of the role to another, and then back againCertificate IV in Veterinary NursingA high level of competency in all areas of Veterinary Nursing, gained through a minimum of 2 years full-time as a qualified nurseExcellent communication skills to enhance our reputation with clients and referring vets alikeA clean driving licence as travel to various centres in south-east Queensland is requiredAn open-mindedness about what the role of a veterinary nurse is and can beApply Now via the link
