Overview

Veterinary Nurse | Dermatology for Animals | Part Time & Full Time Positions

Established in 1998, Dermatology for Animals provides the veterinary dermatology service within the majority of specialist multi-disciplinary veterinary hospitals across Queensland.

We are now looking for Part-time and Full-time veterinary nurses to join our expanding team of veterinarians, nurses and administrators in south-east Queensland. We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced nurse, who wants to excel in providing first rate nursing care, and who is capable across the broad range of skills that encompass veterinary nursing in a dermatological environment. This not only involves utilising patient nursing skills, but also learning about new techniques, becoming competent in dermatological diagnostics, and communicating with clients both in person, by phone and by email.

Veterinary dermatology is unique amongst referral disciplines in fostering long-term relationships with clients and patients. It's less about fixing our patients and sending them on their way, and more about managing their issues so that they and their owners can live their best lives. It's also unique in that dermatology rarely presents with genuine emergencies, and this allows us all to have an enviable work-life balance.

In this role you will have the opportunity to travel across metropolitan and regional Queensland, providing dermatology referral services within specialist multi-disciplinary veterinary hospitals.

What You Will Bring To The Role
  • An enthusiasm for learning, and an understanding that there's still a lot we don't know
  • The flexibility to move from one aspect of the role to another, and then back again
  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • A high level of competency in all areas of Veterinary Nursing, gained through a minimum of 2 years full-time as a qualified nurse
  • Excellent communication skills to enhance our reputation with clients and referring vets alike
  • A clean driving licence as travel to various centres in south-east Queensland is required
  • An open-mindedness about what the role of a veterinary nurse is and can be
