Project Engineering Manager
At Randstad Defence, we're proud to be partnering with Electro Optic Systems (EOS)—a leading Australian technology company operating in the defence and aerospace sectors— to identify a Project Engineering Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity if you have a strong senior engineering background and structured leadership style.
The candidate must be an Australian citizen and be eligible for a security clearance, with the ability to work 5 days per week onsite.
About the role
The Project Engineering Manager position focuses on effectively leading the team responsible for managing and planning the engineering content for projects and the customer technical interface for projects. This role requires effective and consistent engineering project planning using common tools and processes, and clearly present/negotiate plans, progress, and outcomes across our customer base. You\'ll also personally manage critical or complex engineering projects as required.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and management of the Project Engineering team
Ensure that the engineering department achieves the technical outcomes required on approved engineering projects
Establish, manage and maintain systems to support the planning of and resource allocation to, approved technical projects
For all approved engineering projects, ensure Project Engineers are allocated, plans developed and agreed, and progress is monitored and remediated where necessary
Present and participate in engineering project internal and external status reviews
Manage certain critical and complex engineering projects as required
Maintain alignment with Project Management Office regarding selection and application of tools and techniques for planning
About You
You are an organised professional experienced in leading and optimising engineering project planning. Your strong engineering background, sharp focus on project, task, and resource planning, as well as your ability to provide clear team leadership and direction will make you an asset to the team.

Qualifications and Experience
NV1 clearance is desirable
Bachelor of Engineering Degree within an Engineering Discipline
Currently hold or ability to obtain a Chartered Professional Engineering Status
Post Graduate qualifications in Systems Engineering is desirable
10 years or more experience practicing in a Senior Engineering position
Knowledge and understanding of the Product Life Cycle
Experience and track record in management of engineers in multi-disciplinary teams
Experience of the Australian Defence technical regulation frameworks and standards
Proven experience in the project/program execution within the ASDEFCON framework
