This is an exciting phase in our history and we are looking for an experienced Lab Technician, based in Melbourne that will see you working within our Integrated Engineering Services division.

As the Lab Technician, your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to;
Participate in the setting up and execution of experiments and trials in laboratories and specialist test facilities
Analysis of test data under direction from scientists and engineers
Maintenance of test facilities, liaising with workshop staff as required, prepare hardware and materials, conduct pretest
checks and post-test clean-up
Ensure compliance documentation required for the safe operation of the laboratory is in place and current including managing the risks of hazardous chemicals in the workplace
Assist in the preparation and review of risk assessments and process documentation
Manage the calibration requirements of the test laboratory
To be successful in the role of Lab Technician, you will need demonstrated experience, knowledge & skills in the following areas:
Demonstrated experience in laboratory testing
Ability to interpret and following testing protocols and standards
Good oral and written communication skills including the ability to collate, interpret and report technical information concepts, procedures and laboratory test results
Understanding of WHS principles relating to chemical laboratories
Experience in handling chemicals
Good mechanical aptitude and experience working in technical workshops.
A tertiary qualification in science or engineering is highly desirable but not essential and/or extensive experience working in a laboratory environment
