I'm seeking a live-in carer, not just to assist with daily living, but to share a peaceful, purpose-driven home while supporting my journey toward recovery and independence. I'm in my mid-30s, living with partial tetraplegia following a catastrophic injury. I've gone from total paralysis to now learning to stand and step again, been nine years. I work/study full-time from home in medical consulting, law, and research, particularly psychopathology and psychedelic medicine. This role is about walking beside me in the most meaningful chapter of my life. This isn't just support, it's shared presence, relaxed routine, and genuine companionship.

The Role
You'll live in a brand-new, modern and spacious home in West Ipswich, styled with calming, bohemian interiors. The atmosphere is slow, grounded, and intellectually vibrant. You'll assist across the day (approx. 8 hours total, often spread out), with tasks including:

- Morning and evening routines (showering, dressing, meal prep)
- Transferring (bed, wheelchair, shower, couch)
- Cooking, light cleaning, running errands, and dog minding
- Participating in gentle rehabilitation movements or yoga together
- Toileting and hygiene (respectfully and discreetly)
- Most of all: being a calm, kind, and socially present companion

You'll also have plenty of downtime while I work, and NDIS carers support 2-3 full days per week and some irregular shifts, giving you regular breaks. You'll receive 63 days off per year (respite entitlement).

You Might Be the Right Fit If You Are:

- Calm, relaxed, patient, and comfortable in a slow-paced household
- Health-conscious, preferably active, and open to doing yoga or movement work together
- Have excellent spoken English and enjoy deep, reflective conversation
- Physically strong enough for basic transfers (I guide and assist; no hoists used)
- Preferably studying in psychology, social work, arts, health, law, or medical/health area — but not essential
- Politically moderate or centre-right with liberal human values
- Non-smoker (cigarettes), not a heavy drinker
- Open to a therapeutic environment that includes cannabis and ketamine as part of medical care
