About Blacktown International Sports Park (BISP)
Located along the Westlink M7, Blacktown International Sports Park is the premier elite training and playing facility in Western Sydney. First opened in 2000 for the Sydney Olympic Games, the facility has continued to grow and now incorporates a variety of sporting facilities across 54 hectares, including:
Blacktown Football Park Athletics Cricket/AFL Precinct Baseball Softball Blacktown Exercise Sport and Technology HUB (BEST) Blacktown Disability Sports Centre.
About The Opportunity
We are currently looking to appoint a Grounds Person Lead on a permanent, full-time basis who will provide leadership to an experienced and passionate grounds team. You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Team Leader in delivering the year round maintenance, preparation and renovation of all turf surfaces at BISP.
An ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and an ability to work pro-actively under pressure to meet deadlines to ensure we continue to provide surfaces of the highest quality.
Essential
Qualifications and experience
Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf), Sports Turf Management or a related area Current class C driver's licence Experience and knowledge of high standard sporting field preparation and other areas including common reserves and landscaping Chemical Application Accreditation AQF3 or equivalent.
Desirable
Experience in the maintenance and preparation of sand profile sports fields, turf wickets, softball and baseball diamonds Current class MR driver's licence Chemical Application Accreditation AQF4 or equivalent Senior First Aid Certificate Ability to work flexible working hours Ability to work within a team environment.
Remuneration And Benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.
Entry level for this position starts at $1,502.79 per week 38-hour working week Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
