Our Supply Chain Australian Operations team based at our Melbourne Head Office is a key business support unit in the regional hub, that works closely and collaboratively with our Australian assets. The Supply Chain team is responsible for developing and executing collaborative commercial arrangements for the provision of goods and services to MMG sites, ensuring that MMG derives maximum value from its external spend. Our scope encompasses delivery of sourcing and contract management activities and site inventory.

**Principal - Contract Management & Supply Operations**

Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager for Australian Operations, this role will work closely with senior site stakeholders and suppliers to implement and maintain best practice Contract Management practices across MMG.

The role is an important contributor to the success of the Supply Chain team in identifying and delivering commercial value and creation of additional value through continuous improvement and innovation with supply partners.

This role is based out of MMG's Corporate Head office in Melbourne.

**Competencies, qualifications and skills**:

- Tertiary qualified in a Commercial/Business discipline or Engineering.
- Contract & Contractor Management, Relationship Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or equivalent skills
- Expert Communicator and Influencer at all levels both internally and externally
- Good people and change management capabilities and demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, high performing team.
- Ability to clearly prepare and present information to influence and motivate stakeholders and peers
- Ability to plan, set priorities, monitor and deliver quality outcomes within the required timelines
- Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders as part of the contractor management process.
- Ability to manage a small team and draw upon additional resources (Sourcing/Contracting Specialists) as required
- Competent in the use of SAP, or similar ERP system and competent in the use of ARIBA.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Responsible for facilitating the implementation of new commercial arrangements to ensure satisfactory delivery to site.
- Support the Australian Operations by ensuring proactive inventory optimisation and governance practices are in place and are being adhered to.
- Developing inventory optimisation strategies and ensuring they are supported.
- Support the operations at each site with best practice advice that assists with de-risking supply chains.
- Accountable for maintaining performance management reports for in-term contracts and the utilisation of Contract Management information to ensure value delivery and creation.
- Ensuring availability of supplier performance metrics and reports to facilitate supplier review meetings.
- Ensure MMG derives maximum value from its external spend through leadership and support of stakeholder contract engagement.
- Support the safe implementation/transition of contracts through engagement with site stakeholders.
- Negotiate and address in-contract supply issues and disputes with the support of the relevant sourcing specialists and Site Management
- Drive key performance metrics and monitoring of performance across supplier base for MMG.
- Engage with the local operating teams to provide support and guidance on Supply Chain processes and standards as well as audit requirements.
- Responsible for building knowledge and capability in the end to end Supply Chain practices, standards and processes and to ensure that these activities occur in line with MMG Policies and Standards.
- Develop an internal network of Supply peers and other relevant functional peers
