This hands-on role supports advanced manufacturing operations by ensuring all mechanical fittings are installed and operating to specification.
The Mechanical Fitters work collaboratively withing the Advanced Machining team located at Edinburgh Parks.Key responsibilities include:Assemble high precision mechanical components and sub assembliesRead and interpret technical documents, work instructions and SOPs to produce components to exact specificationWorking hands-on at a bench (sitting or standing), use hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments to assemble components and perform quality control checksCollaborate with stakeholders through participation in Production System daily activities to support safety, quality, cost, delivery and team culture.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to improve workflow and enhance operational performance.About YOURelevant mechanical Trade-qualified (ideally Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade) / Proven experienceExperience in mechanical assembly, ideally in aerospace or high precision environmentsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.Strong hands-on experience with bearings, bushes & gearsProficiency in using hand tools, power tools and measurement instruments.Strong attention to detail and manual dexterityExcellent teamwork and communication skills.Strong sense of ownership and commitment to maintaining high quality standards in all work undertaken.Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtainEligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulationsAt BAE Systems Australia, we support flexible work arrangements, including taking one day off every month.We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
