NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join the Aboriginal Outcomes and Partnerships Directorate (AOPD) team as an Executive Officer.

The Aboriginal Outcomes and Partnerships Directorate (AOPD) values its strong partnership with the NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc. and communities, in supporting NSW Public schools to deliver high level, quality teaching to maximise learning outcomes for Aboriginal students.
The work of the AOPD is underpinned by this objective, and provides leadership, strategic advice and direction on all matters relating to Aboriginal education across the NSW Department of Education. The AOPD contributes to national and state policy development for Aboriginal education including language and Culture programs in schools.
Kimberwalli is a post school education, training, careers and employment initiative for Aboriginal young people in Western Sydney Focused on young people determining their own futures, the Centre provides access and opportunity to educational and career pathways through its partnerships with corporate, Government and community stakeholders, state of the art digital labs and provides a culturally safe learning environment.
**About the role**
The role provides a range of administrative and support services to meet the business needs of the unit. An imperative part of the role is to provide efficient and diverse executive support and administrative services while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
This is a diverse administrative role that requires a positive problem solving and solutions focused approach. An important part of the role is to be flexible in the scope and range of activities as required by the business unit.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following experience and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in providing a range of administrative and support services to meet the business needs of the unit.
- Ability to manage the Director's time commitments and diary to ensure urgent matters are prioritised and make the most efficient use of resources.
- Sound communication (oral and written), interpersonal and liaison skills and the ability to provide a professional approach in dealing with Executives and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to use initiative and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and judgement while maintaining a strong customer service approach.
- Proven self-management and organisational skills with strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

**Key Knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
