**Job Description**:
Based in Sydney CBD and reporting to the CFO, the Head of Finance will be responsible for end-to-end finance, reporting and accounting functions within Squadron Energy. It will focus on commercial, financial, and strategic stewardship as well as risk management, stakeholder management, people management, cash flow management and continuous improvement.

This is a key leadership role in Squadron Energy Finance to partner with the businesses and provide financial analysis, advice to deliver optimal business outcome within the Squadron Energy portfolio. This role requires strong leadership to influence stakeholders at all levels of across the businesses with integrity, transparency and plays a critical role in establishing broader business cadence.

Duties include:

- Provide Financial and Commercial guidance to ensure the business delivers against business strategy and Financial Plans including challenging position and assumptions.
- Provide commercial insight and strategic support to the CFO in relation to financial targets, efficiency, and delivery of key business priorities.
- Review Financial results to ensure they are in line with expectations and if not works with Business to take corrective action.
- Picks up trends when financial results not meeting strategy (or Business case outcomes) and assist business to take corrective actions to meet desired financial outcomes.
- Support and provide financial scrutiny on business cases.
- Generates ideas and solutions to meet business needs, creates engagement by telling the story behind the numbers.
- Develop and implements revenue and cost improvement opportunities and initiatives.
- Uses knowledge of global and local markets and the competitive landscape to influence strategic business decisions.
- Questions and challenges the business and provides feedback and advice to drive optimal business outcomes.
- Provides Business inputs to the Central Finance team to enable changes to actuals or forecasts.
- Line of sight of Projects and operational performance into Strategic Planning.

**Qualifications**:
You have a graduate degree in a relevant discipline and post graduate qualification (e.g., CPA/CA) with over 10 years relevant experience.

You have highly developed people management skills, with experience developing and mentoring people managers.

You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups.

You have extensive experience working with other areas of the business through projects along with strong experience leading teams in a changing environment.

You have experience owning, developing, and executing a Business Unit level strategy.

You can maintain and enhance external networks.

You can demonstrate superior Technical Accounting skills along with strong people management skills.
