**THE POSITION**
The 'Maintenance Fitter' role is responsible for executing Parnell's Maintenance Program, ensuring all plant is maintained in a state of compliance with Parnell's quality management system. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this highly important role is an opportunity to join Parnell Manufacturing in an exciting period of growth and to contribute directly to Parnell's success by ensuring all plant.

In this role, you'll execute planned maintenance tasks, attend to occasional breakdowns, and work with the Engineering Manager, Production Manager and other Fitters to improve the Maintenance Program. You'll gain experience in Lean Manufacturing Principles while ensuring excellence in maintenance to keep Parnell's production lines running smoothly. You'll also from time-to-time work with Engineer's on manufacturing improvement projects.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**
- Execute Parnell's Maintenance program, ensuring all plant is maintained in a state of compliance with Parnell's quality management system and FDA/ISO/cGMP regulations.
- Uphold Parnell's safety standards across all areas of the business.
- Perform hands-on maintenance of manufacturing equipment and utilities on time and in a timely manner.
- Escalate & troubleshoot urgent equipment breakdowns hands-on, either alone or alongside the Maintenance Fitter(s)/Engineers.
- Coordinate maintenance and calibration activities with 3rd party contractors, ensuring all work is completed and documented to a GMP standard.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in accordance with Parnell's Quality procedures and GMP guidelines.
- Identify maintenance improvement opportunities and present these to the wider team.
- Implement and maintain the spare parts inventory management system by employing methodologies such as 5S and Kanban to ensure parts are readily available.
- Review periodically the maintenance requirements of manufacturing plant and implement suitable maintenance procedures, including drafting of new Maintenance SOPs and ensuring adequate spare parts inventory.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles, such as 5S, to eliminate waste and improve maintenance/production efficiency.
- Perform equipment size changeovers with production personnel when required.
- Regular communicate and escalate maintenance updates to the Engineering Manager and Production Manager.
- Provide daily and weekly updates on maintenance activities to the wider Engineering group.
- Ensure QMS training is always up to date.
- Conduct purchasing of spare parts and maintenance materials, ensuring spare parts inventory is always maintained.
- Support 7-day a week manufacture with weekend on-call for breakdown support (usually 1 weekend every 5 weekends)
- Occasionally, when required, assist Process Engineers with other technical tasks and projects.
**WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**
**Essential**
- Formal trade qualification (e.g. Fitter, Mechanic, Machinist etc.) or other.
- 3+ years' experience in maintenance in a GMP manufacturing environment.
- Highly organised individual by nature with demonstrable ability to execute maintenance works on-time and manage spare parts inventories, ensuring no maintenance activity is missed.
- Ability to perform maintenance activities under pressure when a machine breakdown may arise, either alone or with a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong attention to detail in both performing maintenance tasks as well as documenting all completed activities to a high standard.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team on maintenance tasks.
