### **The Opportunity**
We're looking a small pool of dedicated volunteer facilitators to lead our weekly walking club.
The goal is to have two facilitators co-host each session, ensuring a supportive and engaging experience for all participants.
You won't have to commit each week if life gets in the way.
As a Walking Club Leader, you'll play a crucial role in:
* Creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
* Encouraging conversation and connection among walkers.
* Ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the group.
### **Walking Club Details**
* **When:** Weekly, Saturday mornings, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM, commencing 18th October
* **Where:** Hyde Park, Perth (meeting point on the corner of Glendower and Palmerston street)
* **The Walk:** We'll enjoy three laps of the beautiful Hyde Park lakes (approximately 850 meters per lap), offering a gentle and refreshing start to the weekend.
**These events are proudly supported by the Rotary Club of Northbridge,** a partnership that helps us expand our reach and impact within the community.
### **What We're Looking For**
* A genuine interest in mental health and community well-being.
* Reliable, punctual, and committed to weekly sessions.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

* Experience in group facilitation is a bonus but not essential we'll provide guidance and support
### **Training provided**
Were integrating recruitment for this role with our current Activator recruitment.
An Activator is a person who host social events of any type, not just walks.
If you choose to join us, you wont be limited to just being part of the Hyde Park Walking Group events.
To join this process, you will need to attend a workshop on **Saturday, 4th October 2025 at 2 pm - 5 pm** \- Victoria Park Community Centre\, 248 Gloucester Street\, East Victoria Park 6101
The purpose of the workshop is to:
1. To understand what Activate Mental Health is about and connect with existing and prospective volunteers.
2. To have a safe space to learn and ask questions.
3. To understand the minimal obligations involved in supporting our members.
After the workshop, you can do one of two options to complete your training to become an Activator.
1. Attend a Zoom training session on Saturday, 11th October, from 2 pm to 3:30 pm
2. Do a self-paced volunteer onboarding course.
For the actual walking groups, we will recommence on 18th October 2025.
