Tokyo Bird is a Japanese-inspired cocktail and whisky bar in Surry Hills, known for our creative cocktails, yakitori, and one of Sydney's best Japanese whisky selections.
We're looking for a reliable, energetic Barback/Bartender to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who wants to learn the ropes of a busy cocktail bar, support the bartenders on shift, and grow their skills behind the bar.
Duties include:
Assisting bartenders with preparation and service
Stocking and restocking the bar during service
Polishing and preparing glassware
Collecting and washing barware
Garnish and ingredient prep
Running drinks to tables when required
Keeping the bar clean, organised, and service-ready
Supporting with closing and pack-down duties
Required:
Current RSA
Availability Friday & Saturday nights (required)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Positive attitude and teamwork focus
Who we're looking for:
Previous bar, barback, or hospitality experience (1+ year preferred, but training provided)
Someone proactive who can anticipate the needs of the bar team
Keen interest in cocktails, whisky, and Japanese hospitality
Reliable, motivated, and ready to grow with us
