The primary purpose of this position is to ensure regulatory compliance of all PepsiCo food products, including innovation projects, to ANZ regulations, internal policies, and guidelines across Australia and New Zealand. This role supports business growth across a diverse product portfolio.
Responsibilities
Execute compliance assessments of food products against ANZ regulations: raw material, ingredient and finished product specifications, on-pack labelling information, and artworks.
Develop Product Label Specification via the PEP specification system in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
Engage with local R&D to support compliance assessment for innovations and import/export.
Provide regulatory advice to support product/packaging claims and regulatory approval for advertising materials.
Identify information gaps and work with cross-functional teams to obtain necessary information for regulatory compliance and final approval.
Support regulatory deficiencies as needed.
Track regulatory developments, assess impacts, and implement new or revised regulatory guidelines and protocols.
Inform key stakeholders of upcoming regulatory changes.
Act as RA lead for data digitization for ANZ foods and represent ANZ RA in project meetings and stage-gate processes for foods.
Participate in regional/sector RA meetings and provide updates as required.
Support ANZ packaging regulatory approvals and develop internal regulatory guides as necessary.
Qualifications
University degree (food science/technology, nutrition, chemistry, biology).
Regulatory knowledge of Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).
3–5 years in the food/beverage industry.
Experience in product development, food safety/quality, or regulatory affairs.
Very well organized, detail oriented, and punctual.
Flexible attitude, results-oriented, proactive, self-starter, and team player.
Fluency in written and verbal English.
Desirable:
Extensive knowledge of regulations for food products.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex subject matter and summarize requirements for all levels of the organization.
Ability to integrate into and influence different levels of the organization.
Ability to manage regulatory issues and provide business insights.
Commercial acumen.
