Our OpportunityWork Location: Fortescue's Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people (PKKP), located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 90 kilometres west of Tom Price.Roster: 7D7N7R FIFO ex Perth or BusseltonFortescue are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Drill Supervisors to join our Eliwana team.
Reporting to the Drill and Blast Superintendent, this position will be responsible for overseeing the day to day drilling activities and personnel, in order to ensure mine safety and production targets are achieved in an efficient manner.
Overseeing drilling and associated activities in accordance with the plan, as directed by the Drill & Blast SuperintendentManaging all safety aspects of drilling operations and ensuring a safe work place is maintained using business process and toolsManaging shift resources and manning levels, to ensure sufficient quantity and quality of drilled Stock is safely achievedEnsuring drill & blast patterns are kept to a high standard and all associated equipment is maintained in a safe conditionLiaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality outputs are achieved at all timesProviding ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to direct reportsDriving Drilling techniques and procedures that promotes zero harm and improves performance and cost efficienciesEnsure that work carried out by Drillers and Drill technicians is of suitable standard.
Maintaining and review of Drill Consumables
Qualifications and ExperiencePrevious Drilling experience essential.Minimum C Class Manual Driver's Licence and relevant ticketsPrevious Supervisory experience and the ability to read and understand mine plans.Knowledge of the WHS Act and WHS (Mines) Regulations, along with a strong commitment to safetyEffective communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships at all levelsUnderstanding of/ exposure to fleet management systemsPrevious experience with incident investigation and/ or risk assessment processes will be highly regarded
