**Snapshot of Responsibilities**
- You will contribute to the profitability of the company by executing buying strategies across kitchen or homewares in-line with the strategic plan set in conjunction with the Head of Buying, whom you report to.
- You will source and identify new product ranges that align with the overall business direction through innate commercial merchandise buying skills
- Of course it goes without saying, effectively negotiating cost prices with vendors to drive product profitability; at all points you will drive commercial outcomes for your product portfolio.
- Executing promotional offers for both digital & store channels where formulating sales forecasts is critical to your categories success
- With excellent communication skills you will work with local and overseas suppliers to ensure success in the delivery of your portfolio.
**You will need**:
- Proven experience as a self-sufficient buyer in either a retail or wholesale environment working with soft or hardgoods, unfortunately FMCG won't be right for this role.
- A strong commercial focus with excellent numerical ability and analytical skills where you identify category opportunities; show them what they are missing.
- You innately know consumer behaviour and have a unique ability to recognise & interpret trends both locally and internationally to tailor product opportunities that will have a commercial return on investment.
- You have solid supplier relationships both locally and offshore.
- You are a team player, sounds cheesy I know, but this business is all about the team and being supportive, this comes from the top down
