**Team Overview**:
The Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS) division is entrusted with providing operational support to BlackRock's portfolio management teams and clients. GAAPS is central to business operations in
- oversight of fund administrator service delivery in relation fund accounting and financial reporting,
- monitoring operational capacity for new products,
- supporting projects in relation to product launches and
- communicating with fund administrators, auditors, fund directors and portfolio managers.
**Role Description**:
The BlackRock fund range supervised in Australia covers a broad range of investment strategies from indexed, active and hedge strategies across unlisted and listed fund ranges. The business is dynamic and growing and is expected to see continued growth and new product opportunities. The role also involves supporting the Hong Kong and Singapore business via daily NAV oversight as well as being an automation champion in the region.
The role suits a high reaching self-starter who demonstrates high levels of initiative with the desire to succeed both as an individual and as part of a team. The applicant will demonstrate a commitment to technical excellence, an understanding of operational and control frameworks, flexibility and the ability to deliver multiple activities and requirements. A strong communicator, they will use their influencing skills to develop collaborative relationships with key partners.

**Role Responsibilities**:
- Demonstrate complete ownership of the day to day accounting and administrator oversight to ensure timely and accurate delivery of NAVs by service providers.
- Collaborate with offshore team members and local auditors to review fund financial statement processes and reports. This includes agreeing content, planning and execution of the accounts and audit in an efficient and robust manner.
- Operational risk review of distribution calculations in accordance with fund offer documents, internal policies and procedures as well as Product Tax directions.
- Supporting multiple internal and external partners over the course of the year that will equire strong interpersonal capabilities and an ability to understand third party requests and deliver solutions.
- Ensure the maintenance of a robust control environment both at the fund service providers and internally to mitigate the risk of errors. Where appropriate, identify global consistency in approach and adherence to standard methodology and policies and procedures. Provide input and drive to enhance the framework.
- Partnering with the client facing business to meet requirements from BlackRock clients.
- Drive increased efficiency and innovation through continuous review of operating procedures and planning / evaluating technology improvements. This involves building a network with Fund Administration teams in APAC, the US and EMEA as well as other operational teams such as product development, investment operations and portfolio managers.
- Validation of fees, rebates and other charges to the Funds and BlackRock.
**Experience**:
- 5+ years of investment / fund accounting / public accounting (audit) work experience or equivalent.
- Bachelors' degree in Accounting (strongly preferred) or Finance. CPA/CFA/CIMA/ACA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
- Experience in the preparation and review of Australian trust distributions including TOFA requirements and being able to articulate the key drivers behind tax results.
- Excellent attention to detail and written and verbal skills.
- Accurate and effective accounting skills including knowledge of GAAP and financial reports.
