OverviewPCYC NSW is seeking a dynamic and hands-on State Sports Manager to drive the success of state-wide sports competitions and participation programs.
You will lead the development and delivery of sport competitions and learn-to-play programs across 66 PCYC NSW Clubs, champion grassroots sports, and support staff, communities, and partnerships to deliver high-quality, inclusive sporting experiences for young people.A key requirement of this role is demonstrated experience in the management and delivery of social sports competitions in a multisite capacity—including scheduling, team and participant coordination, competition rules and regulations, and fostering positive participant experiences.ResponsibilitiesLead the development and delivery of sport competitions and "learn to play" programs across 66 PCYC NSW Clubs.Drive strategy, participation, and performance to ensure high-quality, inclusive sporting experiences for young people.Champion grassroots sports while supporting staff, engaging with communities, and building strong partnerships.Oversee the delivery and growth of club-level sports activities, including sports competitions and skills-based programs.Work with Clubs to improve operations, maximise participation, and maintain high safety, quality, and inclusion standards.Lead and support the implementation of consistent, high-quality sports competitions and activities across PCYC Clubs.Drive participation growth, member retention, and financial performance across the sports portfolio.Develop tools, templates, and best-practice guides to streamline club-based program delivery.Identify and act on revenue opportunities, local marketing needs, and operational efficiencies.Collaborate with internal teams to recruit, support, and upskill staff involved in sports delivery.Support Club Managers in program planning, resource allocation, and performance evaluation.Provide regular reporting to the executive team on participation trends and program performance.Build relationships with State Sporting Organisations, suppliers, partners, and community stakeholders.Contribute to child safety, workplace safety, and organisational compliance.QualificationsRelevant tertiary qualification: Sports Management/Business Degree.Demonstrated experience in the management and delivery of social sports competitions in a multisite capacity.Driver's Licence.First aid certificate.Incentives and BenefitsGenerous not-for-profit salary packaging benefits of up to $15,899 per annum tax-free.Additional $2,650 for entertainment expenses with a Meals and Entertainment Card.Access to employee rewards program, including discounts on food, retail, and travel.Generous leave entitlements, including additional paid leave.Access Fitness Passport Membership and free PCYC gym membership at participating clubs.Workplace flexibility and a supportive team environment.Onsite parking.Additional InformationPlease note: The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Police Criminal History Background Check (Less than 6 months old).
