**Role Description/Criteria**

A Learning Support Officer is required 4 days per week (neg.) to support our secondary students with hearing impairment and additional needs operating within our partner school, St John's Regional College. The role of the Educational Support LSO is to support students with hearing loss access learning in the classrooms of our partner school.

Fixed term: 2 years

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Working closely with teachers of the deaf, allied health staff and classroom teachers.
- Modifying tasks as required to meet individual students' needs.
- Assisting in the maintenance and use of assistive listening or vision devices & technology.
- Working as part of a team, maintaining confidentiality of private or sensitive information at all times.
- Following St Mary's Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework.
- Attending external professional development and professional training when requested.
- Assist in the provision of a child-safe environment for students.

Applicants must hold or be willing to acquire a Working with Children Check card and must be willing to undergo a National Police Record Check.
