**Job Description**:
As the Project Director - Construction, you will be responsible for providing leadership and driving a high-performing, collaborative team culture to safely deliver highly specialised data centre development projects, including base build, fitout out and critical infrastructure expansion works within the Capital Works portfolio.
Reporting to the Head of Capital Works and assisting the Head of Site Development and Chief of Engineering & Design, the Project Director will have extensive experience in the construction of data centres or similar facilities, including a strong understanding of mission critical infrastructure, with a proven ability to safely deliver projects, on time, on budget, and to high quality, while achieving business case objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide client-side oversight and direction to the project team, to achieve the end-to-end implementation of new data centre solutions, embedding a strong safety culture, and driving operational and business improvement initiatives.
- Lead and oversee development of pre-construction planning activities including design coordination, budgeting, scheduling and procurement, including the engagement and oversight of the Principal Contractor to undertake Early Contractor involvement processes
- Undertake the role of Principal's Representative for the building contracts, acting as day-to-day interface with construction-related consultants and contractors for decision-making and stakeholder communications to ensure effective contract management
- Development and execution of project strategy documents, including the project controls plan, procurement strategy, communications, change management, and risk management plans to align with company goals and objectives.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize project outcomes.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare, write, and present regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience (15+ years) in project management within the construction or development industry, with a focus on large-scale critical infrastructure projects with a capital expenditure value in excess of AU$200m.
- Project Management qualifications/certification/experience in PMBOK, ISO21500 or other recognised project standards/Guides
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

- Good knowledge of local building codes and standards including town planning and authority processes.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of successfully developing, managing and empowering high-performing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence, consult and deliver a quality service while effectively balancing client expectations with corporate requirements and directions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
