
Logistics Officer

Position Summary:
A Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in managing and optimising the flow of goods, materials, and resources within the hotel. They are responsible for overseeing various aspects of logistics, including inventory management, transportation, supply chain coordination, and warehouse operations. The primary goal of a Logistics Officer is to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from suppliers to the hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and reorder points.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and discrepancies.
- Monitor and manage stock levels to prevent overstock or understock situations.
Supply Chain Coordination:
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Track and manage purchase orders, shipments, and delivery schedules.
- Identify potential bottlenecks and implement strategies to streamline the supply chain.
Transportation and Distribution:
- Arrange and coordinate the transportation of goods, both inbound and outbound.
- Select the most cost-effective and efficient transport methods while considering delivery deadlines.
- Monitor and optimize routing, scheduling, and freight costs.
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of warehouses and storage facilities.
- Implement safety and security protocols to protect inventory and personnel.
- Optimize warehouse layouts for efficient storage and retrieval of goods.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, including bills of lading, shipping documents, and invoices.
- Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, cost analysis, and key performance indicators.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the logistics process, such as supply chain disruptions, product shortages, or quality issues.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry standards related to logistics and transportation.
- Ensure compliance with customs, import/export regulations, and safety standards.
