An exciting opportunity now exists for an energetic and proactive candidate to join Lactalis as a permanent full-time Supplier Relationship Manager/Field Officer to manage and support our farmers in Gippsland.
This role reports to the National Supplier Services Manager and works alongside another SRM to support our Raw Milk Suppliers (farmers) in the Gippsland area. The successful applicant will develop and manage long-term farmer relationships, communicate across all levels of the business, and identify and follow through on new supplier arrangements.
Role
This position is based in Gippsland and focuses on building strong relationships with supplier farms, facilitating communication between suppliers and Lactalis, and coordinating supplier-related activities to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities
Develop a comprehensive understanding of farm-related challenges and act as the key point of contact between the supplier base and Lactalis.
Initiate and follow through on CSR emissions reduction projects on supplier farms.
Assist suppliers with farm issues that improve milk quality.
Manage business-as-usual tasks including coordinating resolution of supplier issues (quality, budgets, milk logistics, CSR assessments, etc.) and assist with investigations with relevant departments.
Utilise relevant reporting mechanisms to provide accurate information and feedback to management.
Coordinate win-win outcomes with the supplier and Lactalis to improve supplier loyalty.
Recruit supply when required through recruitment and retention projects to help Lactalis be the processor of choice and ensure Lactalis meets raw milk volume targets. Help develop tools and innovative offers for suppliers to commit to Lactalis in conjunction with the Supplier Services Manager.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need experience building customer and client relationships, an understanding of the dairy industry, outstanding communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with a variety of stakeholders. Self-motivation is paramount due to the significant autonomy required in this role. Diploma or Degree qualifications in Agriculture are desirable, but the right relationship manager with experience and a keen interest in dairy is ideal.
