
Community Development Worker First Nations

Reporting to the Coordinator Community Development, you will be responsible for providing community development work to ensure social cohesion, inclusion and community connectedness as part of Council's Community Development Program. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of programs and activities which address the specific needs and goals of Liverpool's First Nations community members, consulting on community needs and providing advice to Council in dealing with day-to-day decisions regarding the needs of the local community.
- Key accountabilities include:
- Developing and implementing community development projects and programs;
- Consulting on community needs and issues and providing advice to Council and others in relation to First Nations people in Liverpool;
- Developing and delivering appropriate strategies, community programs and activities and community development projects to address identified priorities;
- Building credible working relationships with internal and external parties based on communication, teamwork and customer service;
- Advocating the needs of the local community and in particular the needs of the First Nations communities;
- Consulting on community needs and providing advice to Council in dealing with the day to day decisions regarding the needs of the local community;
- Facilitating and resourcing identified external networks and forums; and
- Working to ensure Council's Community Development Program is based on community needs and aspirations and is broadly understood by stakeholders.
