As an Associate, Controls Performance your role will be to support the Controls Performance team (Enterprise Controls and Processes) in the execution of control assessments of our most critical processes and material risks across the enterprise.

You will be responsible for providing control specialist guidance, support and assisting the business understand their risk and control environment by undertaking control assurance activities in line with the core role responsibilities. This includes (but not limited to) targeted assessments across specified E2E or equivalent processes; or by risks or obligations.

**About the role**

Reporting to Manager Controls Performance, this role is critical in helping the business to uplift their environment by independently assessing the design and operating effectiveness of controls, identifying control gaps and by coming up with solutions to help uplift the control environment. This role is primarily responsible for:

- Undertaking control design and operating effectiveness testing and validating linkages to process maps, risks and obligations
- Delivery of design and operating effectiveness workpapers to a high standard and within timelines
- Assisting review leads with planning, scoping and reporting activities
- Communicating and agreeing findings with senior business stakeholders
- Building relationships with business stakeholders and DCO teams and partnering with them to educate them on control identification and driving control owner self-assessment capability.

**What you will bring**
- Knowledge and experience in testing control design and operating effectiveness against process objectives, risks and obligation requirements.
- Knowledge of audit practices, standards and methodology
- Audit, Assurance and/or risk management experience in a large banking organisation or a large accounting firm would be desirable
- An understanding of corporate Technology environments and/or the Corporate & Institutional business would be desirable
- Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline (Risk Management, CA/CPA and other relevant courses will be highly regarded or equivalent business experience)
