The Opportunity As the Onslow Iron Operations continues to ramp and increases their fleet of Kenworth C509s we have an immediate requirement for experienced and motivated tyre fitters looking to take their careers to the next level by working in our fast paced state of the art 2.5 Acre workshop facility equip with designated tyre fitting bays.
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor You will play a crucial part within our team supporting our haulage operations by monitoring and diagnosing tyre damage and wear, removing and replacing wheels (no strip and fit required), performing emergency tyre and related repairs on our impressive fleet of Kenworth road trains.
This will be a fulltime permanent position 2/1 roster with rotating day and night shifts, offering Fly In, Fly Out from Perth WA.
What is required Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Fitting A strong commitment to safety and quality of work Demonstrated experience with heavy vehicle or heavy mobile plant machinery The ability to perform physically demanding tasks Applicants with experience with heavy haulage fleet will be held in high regard
About Onslow Iron Our Onslow Iron project is set to redefine mining in Western Australia through world-first autonomous road trains, industry leading dust free transport and innovative tran-shipping.
Taking shape 150 kilometres east of Onslow, the project will ship around 35 million tonnes of iron ore per year and is expected to have a mine life of more than 30 years.
The project will encompass the Ken's Bore mine (approximately 150km from Onslow), Onslow Port infrastructure and Onslow Truck Maintenance Facility.
