**About the Role**

Due to an internal promotion the Head of Financial Accounting and Controls position is a rare opportunity. This is a high-profile strategic leadership role in the delivery of audit, balance sheet centralisation and implementation of the financial control framework.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, some of the responsibilities include (but not limited to);
- Overseeing, implementing and monitoring adherence to the Group Financial Control Framework
- Management of Group Audit processes
- Responsible for all Technical Accounting analysis and Group Balance Sheet.
- Responsibility in preparation of Group Consolidated Financial Statements
- Process improvements and financial system transformation
- Provide guidance and leadership to wider finance, operational and corporate teams in ensuring financial policies, governance and control framework are adhered to
- Actively position and motivate the team as an engaged and strategic partner
- Contribute to strategy, responding to risk and performance efficiencies
- Accountable for the completion, timeliness, robustness and governance of financial reporting at a legal entity and Group level
- Providing technical accounting analysis to support the group including actions from organisational change
- Ensure finance ledgers are maintained and reviewed on a timely basis, are accurate and complete, and structured for the dual purpose of providing relevant information to internal users and meeting statutory obligations
- Appropriate consolidation and legal entity reporting activities
- Manage purchase price accounting and other acquisition/divestment accounting for any M&A activity
- Accountable for monitoring and matching intercompany balances across the group and consolidation activities.

**About you**
- Fifteen + years finance expertise supporting senior stakeholders in a decision support capacity
- Proven experience in leadership, managing and implementing financial control frameworks, process simplifications and centralisation
- Financial and governance experience supporting a 'change' / 'transformational' environment
- Ability to identify and mitigate financial risks, driving suitable actions
- Strong knowledge on governance, and policies
- Strong technical accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills
- A capacity to operate in a dynamic, evolving environment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- A team player and people leader who can influence outcomes
- Results-oriented and quality mindset with the ability to identify anomalies
- Demonstrated ability to operate across geographical boundaries and manage dispersed teams
- Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint use
- Bachelor of Economics or Bachelor of Commerce with Finance / Accounting focus or equivalent
- Postgraduate in Business or Logistics would be highly regraded
- Registered CA / CPA or an equivalent professional qualification
