Category Manager needed to provide expert procurement and category management support for the business

**Your new company**

Responsible for the operation of Tasmania's essential Infrastructure, this business is embarking on a supply chain transformation program to further optimise how they deliver for their customers. Hays Procurement is working closely with this business to identify and secure the talent needed to deliver this exciting evolution. As this business has statewide operations, these roles can be based in either Hobart, Launceston or Devonport.

**Your new role**

This newly created position will see you enabling best-practice category and procurement management strategies to ensure that the supply chain division can deliver on operational demands. You'll be supporting the Supply Chain team by focusing on the following key functions.
- Develop and manage ongoing strategic supplier relationships.
- Undertake market analysis to ensure supply assurance strategies are aligned with your delegated categories.
- Analyse the medium to long term objectives of the business to ensure critical equipment and inventory are available when needed and procured efficiently.
- Participate in market approaches, source to contract and procure to pay activities.
- Assist with contract administration (in line with effective supplier relationship management).

**What you'll need to succeed**

You'll need excellent communication skills supported with a sound commercial acumen. Additionally, you'll be deeply skilled in the comprehension and negotiation of complex financial and technical information, whilst ensuring strategic supplier relationships are maintained and delivering for the business. You'll need tertiary qualifications in business or supply chain management, couple with senior category or procurement experience.
