The company has a long history in manufacturing, import and distribution of a wide range of food products across very broad retail, wholesale and industrial channels. They have a focus on supply-chain based solutions managing the entire supply chain process to ensure right product is delivered at the right time. The business procures product across 10 different food & food ingredient categories from various markets around the world.

**About the role**

Reporting to the GM of Procurement (Ingredients) the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and growing a defined product category including further development of pre-existing supplier relationships, with a strong focus on ensuring best practice buying and benchmarking pricing levels, this role will also be accountable for assisting in improving results across a range of products within the portfolio.

**Responsibilities of the role**
- Commercially manage an existing portfolio of products, end to end as required by the business
- Become an expert in the defined product category, in particular food & food ingredients products
- Be aware of competitor products and strategies within both the customer & wider market developing a commercial advantage
- Ensure products offered to the business meet approval specifications at both technical and operational level
- Ensure commitment and undertaking to always uphold Food Safety and Quality Assurance to our customers, consumers, certification bodies, import and export authorities
- Understand best practice surrounding risk and mitigation in the Procurement industry including risk analysis and management, diligent procurement, fraud and transparency
- Promote and enhance organisation-wide compliance of standard procurement processes
- Analyse spend data and identify procurement opportunities to reduce costs or increase value

**Your Experience & Attributes**
- Demonstrated deep understanding of the supply markets within the food & food ingredients industry
- Partnerships with the right suppliers to realise product development goals and identify opportunities for innovation
- Informed of market changes and developments, developed and implemented strategies to capitalise on these
- Monitored the evolving dynamics of the supply market and business needs, proactively reviewing procurement activity
- Understanding of the importance of cross functional relationships that enables meeting of teams' objectives
- Demonstrated ability to cope with high volume workload and achieve set deadlines within a commercial environment
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Proven stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work autonomously and with mínimal supervision
- Highly motivated with a 'can do' attitude

**Essential** for success in this role is Food and/or Food Ingredients experience, you must be able to demonstrate your deep knowledge of these categories. This is an outstanding career opportunity with future opportunities available with success in this role.

This is a hybrid workplace with 2 days per week WFH
