As Principal Cloud Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical expert who works across multiple work-streams, combining deep cloud engineering expertise with business acumen to shape and deliver transformative solutions.You will be embedded within critical projects and initiatives, providing technical leadership and mentorship while maintaining a strong focus on hands-on contribution.
The role requires someone who can seamlessly move between detailed technical implementation, solution architecture, business development, and technical advisory work.This position focuses on elevating Quantium's cloud engineering capabilities through technical excellence, innovation, and the promotion of cloud-native approaches to solution design.
You will work closely with teams across the organization to raise engineering standards, mentor colleagues, and drive the adoption of modern cloud practices.ResponsibilitiesProvide hands-on technical leadership across multiple strategic initiatives and client engagementsDesign and implement cloud-native architectures that set new standards for scalability, security, and efficiencyLead technical discovery and architecture sessions with stakeholdersDrive the adoption of modern cloud engineering practices and patternsContribute directly to critical codebases and technical decisionsDevelop technical frameworks and reference architectures for use across the organizationWork with clients and internal teams to design innovative cloud solutionsProvide technical advisory services for complex client engagementsContribute to business development activities through technical expertiseDevelop proof-of-concepts and technical demonstrations for strategic opportunitiesCreate detailed solution architectures that align with business objectivesDefine and implement technical standards and best practices for cloud engineeringMentor engineers across the organization in cloud-native approachesLead technical reviews and provide constructive feedback to raise quality standardsDrive innovation in our technical approaches and toolingQualifications10+ years' experience in cloud engineering and architectureDeep expertise in cloud-native architectures and patternsExtensive experience with GCP and other major cloud platformsStrong track record of hands-on technical contribution to complex projectsProven ability to influence and mentor without direct authorityExperience in consulting or client-facing technical rolesStrong background in infrastructure automation and DevOps practicesExperience working in regulated industries with complex compliance requirementsExperience designing and implementing global-scale cloud architecturesDeep knowledge of containerization technologies and orchestration platformsExperience with data engineering and analytics platformsExpertise in infrastructure as code tools and methodologiesWhat could your Quantium experience look like?
