Role Summary
This is an exceptional opportunity for a distinguished technical leader to drive cloud engineering excellence across Quantium. As Principal Cloud Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical expert who works across multiple work-streams, combining deep cloud engineering expertise with business acumen to shape and deliver transformative solutions.

You will be embedded within critical projects and initiatives, providing technical leadership and mentorship while maintaining a strong focus on hands-on contribution. The role requires someone who can seamlessly move between detailed technical implementation, solution architecture, business development, and technical advisory work.

This position focuses on elevating Quantium's cloud engineering capabilities through technical excellence, innovation, and the promotion of cloud-native approaches to solution design. You will work closely with teams across the organization to raise engineering standards, mentor colleagues, and drive the adoption of modern cloud practices.

How will you make an impact?

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across multiple strategic initiatives and client engagements
• Design and implement cloud-native architectures that set new standards for scalability, security, and efficiency
• Lead technical discovery and architecture sessions with stakeholders
• Drive the adoption of modern cloud engineering practices and patterns
• Contribute directly to critical codebases and technical decisions
• Develop technical frameworks and reference architectures for use across the organization
• Work with clients and internal teams to design innovative cloud solutions
• Provide technical advisory services for complex client engagements
• Contribute to business development activities through technical expertise
• Develop proof-of-concepts and technical demonstrations for strategic opportunities
• Create detailed solution architectures that align with business objectives
• Define and implement technical standards and best practices for cloud engineering
• Mentor engineers across the organization in cloud-native approaches
• Lead technical reviews and provide constructive feedback to raise quality standards
• Drive innovation in our technical approaches and tooling

The Superpowers You Will Bring To The Team

• 10+ years' experience in cloud engineering and architecture
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures and patterns
• Extensive experience with GCP and other major cloud platforms
• Strong track record of hands-on technical contribution to complex projects
• Proven ability to influence and mentor without direct authority
• Experience in consulting or client-facing technical roles
• Strong background in infrastructure automation and DevOps practices
• Experience working in regulated industries with complex compliance requirements
• Experience designing and implementing global-scale cloud architectures
• Deep knowledge of containerization technologies and orchestration platforms
• Experience with data engineering and analytics platforms
• Expertise in infrastructure as code tools and methodologies
