**About the Opportunity**
The Manager Quality Governance and Assurance role has a strategic horizon of 1-3 years and is responsible for overseeing and leading a growing team focusing on Quality Assurance (QA), Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA), and IMTE Calibrations services. This role involves establishing quality standards and processes across the organization, supporting governance and quality assurance, and managing external stakeholder relationships, including NSSG, NAVY, and certification bodies.
This is a full-time opportunity based at either our Osborne site in SA or Henderson in WA
**Responsibilities**
- Aligning activities with ASC's strategy and contractual deliverables.
- Maintaining a strategic perspective on business issues, opportunities, and risks.
- Leading a team of quality and product assurance professionals.
- Ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient systems of work.
- Providing auditing, system maintenance, corrective actions, calibration management, and root cause analysis.
- Ensuring ASC systems and processes align with best practices in Quality Management Systems.
**About you**
- Diploma in Quality Audit and management
- Lead Auditor qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in an engineering and/or business discipline desirable
- Minimum 5 years' experience in operational leadership roles within Defence and/or heavy industry
- Demonstrated successful experience with ISO accreditation audits and Certifications
- Strong knowledge of technical systems of work, quality assurance standards, and corrective action / change management processes
- Proven experience and competency with quality/certification systems in a dockyard or heavy engineering environment
- Demonstrated experience and competency in the management and leadership of cross-functional team spanning multiple projects and locations.
- Have high level conceptual, analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret (both ASC and customer) social, political and operating environments.
- Problem solving at the highest level of complexity and importance that materially affect the value, viability and profitability of ASC.
- Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels - written, verbal and interpersonal
- Proven ability to influence and lead change and business improvement.
- Ability to set priorities and achieve deadlines within a fast-paced environment
**Eligibility**
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
