**Economic Reintegration Manager (PLMSP - Palladium)**
**Project Overview**:
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor
- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program's (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.
**Role Overview**:
The Economic Reintegration Manager will support activities in Australia, the Pacific and Timor-Leste that contribute to the successful economic reintegration of returning PALM workers. This will include designing, planning, coordinating, managing, facilitating and delivering reintegration support to partner countries, Pacific workers and Approved Employers.
This is a fixed term opportunity required till September 2028 with possibility of extension.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
The GEDSI Manager will:
- Build working relationships with Pacific and Timorese businesses, government agencies and other relevant stakeholders to understand how economic reintegration activities can be delivered.
- Contribute to the implementation of economic reintegration activities for PALM workers and their families. "Work with reintegration officers in Labour Sending Units (LSU) to better understand and support the reintegration efforts of each sending country.
- Design, procure and deliver economic reintegration-specific activities at a country level, in line with country engagement strategies
- Work closely with the Social Reintegration Manager to ensure that economic activities consider social impacts and mitigate associated risks to individuals, families, communities and the reputation of the scheme.
- Build relationships with other Worker And Family Agency (WAFA) teams and PLMSP streams to support economic reintegration efforts.
- Understand how innovation and technology shape the way we work and introduce new ways of working through AI, data and technology.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Development Studies, Economics, business) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
- A strong understanding of labour mobility, particularly worker economic reintegration issues in the Pacific region and its associated challenges and complexities.
- Understanding of market systems development and how to facilitate sustainable economic opportunities.
- A demonstrated ability to build respectful, productive and sustainable working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (including partner government, civil society and the private sector) and working together to achieve results.
- Strong ability to prepare accessible written reports and to present findings to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets and resources to ensure timely implementation of deliverables.
