St Joseph's Catholic School, The Strand, established in 1873, is the first Catholic school in Townsville.

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated School Officer - Administration for a term-time, permanent role of 35 hours per week, starting as soon as practicable.
The role involves providing high-level administrative support with initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, and dependability.
You will liaise with visitors, parents, staff, and students, presenting a professional and welcoming image, and delivering high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Support reception and administrative tasks, including overseeing parent reception, student reception, mail management, and responding to inquiries.
Data entry, document production, filing, and record management.
Support school operations, including dissemination of information, event coordination, and payment follow-up.
Administer first aid, monitor inventory, and oversee the Uniform Shop.
Handle money and support various school functions and community events.
About You
Experience
Previous generalist administrative support experience.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Confident in assisting staff, students, and parents.
Skills
Adaptability and enthusiasm for embracing new ideas.
Strong computer skills, including Google and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Organizational and coordination skills, with flexibility to manage deadlines.

Mandatory Criteria
Current Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card) before commencement.
Relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one.
Ability to perform physical requirements safely.
Desirable Criteria
Recent experience in school or similar administration/reception roles.
