Technical Officer - Sports Turf and Irrigation
$86,815 pa + 12% super (level 4)

The City of Moreton Bay is seeking a proactive and experienced Technical Officer (Sports Turf and Irrigation) to contribute to the planning, delivery and monitoring of the region's sports turf maintenance program. Working alongside the Senior Technical Officer, you'll help ensure turf and irrigation works are carried out to high standards, within set timeframes and budget parameters. As part of our team, you'll play a key role in maintaining the quality, safety, and sustainability of Council's sports field network
Your responsibilities will include:
undertaking end to end activities across sports turf areas, including contractor engagement to efficiently deliver Council's turf program to required standards
providing specialist technical advice to stakeholders, monitoring and investigating turf conditions to ensure safety and sustainability
reviewing and enhancing annual maintenance programs to drive optimal delivery outcomes and value for money
developing annual budgets and preparing program initiation submissions, specifications, procedures and guidelines for turf maintenance, irrigation assets and renewal projects
managing procurement, contract and project administration activities related to sports field renewal and maintenance
carrying out regular site inspections and contractor audits, ensuring contractor workplace health and safety adherence
identifying and managing contractor compliance issues in line with Council and industry standards

Ideally, you'll have demonstrated experience in a similar role requiring a comparable skill set. You'll also bring:
Comprehensive experience across a broad range of technical applications relevant to sports turf and irrigation maintenance, including both capital and operational delivery
Expertise in developing, specifying and delivering integrated sports turf management programs aligned with industry standards
Ability to learn new software systems and applications to manage financial transactions, procurement processes, asset management and project documentation
Strong communication skills (written and verbal), excellent time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
In addition to the above, you'll hold a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or another relevant Certificate/Diploma, a Construction Induction Card, and a current driver's licence.
A Certificate III in Irrigation would be considered desirable.
