**What's the role?**

Working within a dynamic and collaborative team of procurement professionals, you will take a lead role in the delivery of procurement and contract management activities to support News' Newsprint & Specialty Paper requirements.

You will:

- Be involved in a wide range of procurement activities across the procurement lifecycle from strategy development, tendering, contract implementation and supplier management.
- Partner with the business to unlock value for your stakeholders through the full life of the sourcing and contract activities
- Lead the procurement activities with domestic and international newsprint and specialty paper suppliers
- Prepare high quality fit for purpose procurement documentation, including procurement plans, tender packs and schedules
- Lead negotiation of tenders and contracts to deliver strong commercial outcomes
- Identify risks and develop highly effective mitigation strategies
- Prepare and present award recommendations to senior management
- Provide expert advice and guidance to business stakeholders in contract management matters

Demonstrated procurement experience in the paper category is required.

- High performing procurement manager looking for the next step up in your career
- You have a data driven approach, with an operational mindset
- 5-7+ years strategic sourcing or category management experience
- You are positive, proactive and collaborative and bring an ethical procurement approach and an ability to challenge the status quo
- Highly developed commercial acumen
- Well developed competencies in procurement and contract management, with exceptional written and verbal skills
- Highly confident working with contracts - review, drafting and advice with support from senior procurement management and Legal
- Highly confident in dealing with and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Resilient, flexible and able to work to tight deadlines
- Confident in your ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience in managing disputes and claims (highly desirable)
