**Criticalist - Central Coast**

SASH Central Coast is one of four SASH referral Clinic's across Australia and was established in 2017. With the largest veterinary referral hospital in the southern hemisphere in our network, our team work collaboratively across multiple locations to ensure the highest level of care is provided to over 40,000 patients and their families each year. Our services at SASH Central Coast are rapidly expanding, and include internal medicine, surgery with physiotherapy, critical care, 24-hour emergency, anaesthesia, ophthalmology, dermatology, radiology and oncology. You will have access to our intensive care unit, full service in-house lab, procedure room as well as a large surgery prep area with 2 theatres. You will work with our full-time, on-site Radiologist and Radiographer who will assist with your diagnostic imaging needs, and includes radiography as well as computed tomography. Our treatment room and ICU areas are equipped with multi-parameter monitors, high-flow nasal oxygen, and critical care ventilators, amongst other essential equipment.

**The Criticalist Position**:
SASH Central Coast is looking for our second enthusiastic and dedicated Criticalist to join our emergency and critical care department, working with another experienced Criticalist, Dr Lisa Smart. Your primary role will be to manage our critically ill patients, while providing support to the Emergency Department. Our Criticalists also actively collaborate with the wider SASH team on cases, ensuring each patient receives the best care, as well as helping educate clients and referring vets. Teaching and research are also embedded in our culture, with many innovative projects being developed alongside clinical service. Our team is passionate about giving back to the industry and so we are looking for someone who is committed to supporting our interns, residents, emergency vets and nurses, as well as our referring veterinarians. Work-life balance looks different to everyone and so we have both full time and part time packages available with the option of longer or shorter days.

To be considered for the position, we require:

- A positive and enthusiastic mindset for innovation, education and research
- Board certified/eligible specialist in Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC, ECVECC, FANZCVS). _Holding one of these qualifications means you will be able to work in Australia, regardless of your undergraduate degree_
