McLean Farms is a diversified family-owned agri-business based in Pittsworth, 30 minutes Southwest of Toowoomba. Specialising in livestock and food production, the business is involved with a broad range of agricultural enterprises such as grain, compost and feed mill operations. We are currently seeking a WHS Assistant to join the team in a full-time capacity.

**Responsibilities will include but are not limited to**:

- Develop, implement, and maintain a Work Health and Safety Management System, aligned with relevant legislation and codes, and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant standards, operational and business requirements.
- Support the strategic objectives, continuous improvement, and compliance with legislation, codes, and best practice principles.
- Implement and deliver a Safety Leadership strategy to promote a safety culture across the organisation.
- Provide health and safety advice and support in managing health and safety issues and risks.
- Undertake consultation, lead committees and coordinate reporting accountabilities for safety initiatives.
- Undertake a regular program of audits to ensure compliance.
- Proactively identify improvement, best practice and industry-accepted health and safety opportunities.
- Liaise and manage Work Cover related matters, including Return to Work support/plans.
- Proactively identify improvement, best practice and industry-accepted health and safety opportunities.
- Be responsible and accountable for keeping accurate and complete records of all WHS activities.
- Complete or support WH&S investigates when required**.**:

- Complete Drug and Alcohol testing on sites when required.
- Regularly complete site visits to support and guide the teams on WH&S standards, practices, and strategies.

**To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes**:

- Relevant qualifications or extensive experience in WH&S.
- Experience in Health and Safety auditing and the conduct of investigations into WH&S incidents and accidents.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to Work Health and Safety.
- Demonstrated experience in work assessment, rehabilitation and return to work programs.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and high-level communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Experience in planning, organizing, prioritising, and coordinating work in a changing environment.
- Current Class "C" driver's licence and clean driving record.

You may be required to work reasonable overtime to meet operational demands.
