You will manage project activities to deliver quality results on time, support decisions with clear documentation, and engage stakeholders effectively.
Clear communication and strong collaboration will be essential in a fast-paced environment, especially when addressing matters affecting Aboriginal peoples and communities.
You will have the opportunity to support the capability of senior leaders across the sector through projects aimed at:Building partnerships between senior leaders and Aboriginal staff within the NSW Public Sector to build cultural capability and enable Aboriginal outcomes sector-wide.Enabling our people to engage with Aboriginal communities through place-based cultural immersion.Equipping Directors with knowledge, leadership skills, and practical tools to drive Aboriginal outcomes and meaningful change within their portfolios.For more information read the full Role Description: Project Officer (Identified)Check out our Aboriginal applicants guide to assist with applying for the role or contact our Aboriginal Career pathways team for guidance.What you will bring to the role Project Management: Deliver project support services, including maintaining documentation, preparing reports, and coordinating resources to ensure successful outcomes within scope, budget, and timelines.Policy and Procedure Development: Evaluate and refine operational policies and procedures to enhance clarity, efficiency, and alignment with statutory requirements.Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with stakeholders, coordinate consultations, and facilitate collaboration to support policy development and legislative objectives.Knowledge of the NSW Planning system: Experience in planning and environmental legislation and processes such as strategic planning are desired but not essential.Knowledge and experienceExperience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and entities.Essential requirement Aboriginal identified positions are developed where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role.
