About the role
Victoria University SC is seeking an exceptional VET Building & Construction / Woodwork Teacher to join our dynamic and dedicated team.
This is a full-time position based in our Senior campus located in Cairnlea.
As a VET Building & Construction / Woodwork Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality vocational education and training to our secondary school students, preparing them for rewarding careers in the construction industry.
What you'll be doing
Delivering engaging and effective lessons in VET Building & Construction and Woodwork subjects
Developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning outcomes
Assessing and providing feedback on student work, ensuring they meet the required standards
Collaborating with colleagues to continually improve the curriculum and teaching practices
Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with school policies
Actively participating in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
Providing support and guidance to students, fostering their personal and academic growth
What we're looking for
Relevant teaching qualifications, including a minimum of a Bachelor of Education or equivalent
Extensive experience in teaching VET Building & Construction and Woodwork subjects at the secondary school level
Strong knowledge of the Australian VET curriculum and industry standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students
Demonstrated ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Proficient in the use of technology and digital learning tools
A passion for education and a commitment to the ongoing professional development of both students and yourself
