Our opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Marina Manager to join our Sydney Team based at Birkenhead Point. You will support the Marina Manager with leading a team to manage the daily operations of the marina and to ensure it is presented in its optimal condition. To maintain the highest level of safety and deliver exceptionally memorable and rewarding experiences to our operators, customers, guests and communities.
This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Full Time Contract
**Your responsibilities are but not limited to**:
Conducting a daily inspection of the marina and taking corrective action to address any reported defects or identified risks, and responding to any hazards reported;
Managing plant and equipment in line with legislative requirements and the marina to the highest standard of performance, repair, maintenance, presentation and cleanliness;
Proactively managing the performance of the cleaning and security teams to meet or exceed their contract obligations/KPI's, and ensuring they make a positive contribution to the marina's security and presentation;
Proactively identifying maintenance requirements for the marina and coordinating task completion with the necessary supplier/contractor or Maintenance Coordinator, and ensuring all work on site is performed in a timely manner and to an acceptable standard and in accordance with Workplace Health & Safety obligations and Mirvac contractor qualification and induction requirements;
Managing the marina's capital projects to budget and delivery plans, with longer term plans in place;
Performing kiosk duties, allocating marina berths, kayaks and storage, and managing the lease agreement process;
Assisting customers with vessel refueling in line with correct processes and environmental practices;
Where required, carrying out Dock Master duties for all vessels entering and leaving the marina;
Where required, working with the Development team to ensure any marina facilities and design issues are raised during the redevelopment planning phase and throughout the development;
Delivering a Sales/Marketing Plan that appropriately markets the marina, increases occupation and enhances the customer and guest experience;
Assisting with the planning, design and implementation of engaging marketing campaigns including marina website and quarterly newsletter;
Daily receipting of tenant payments and invoice issuing;
Assisting the Marina Manager with debt collection and reporting to ensure arrears are managed in accordance with KPIs, following up rent collection and assisting with annual rent reviews;
Advising the Marina Manager on maintenance and operations issues which may affect the normal operation of the marina and operating budget;
Assisting with the marina's Operational Expenditure and Capital Expenditure Budgets, and Project Delivery Plans;
Assisting with continuous monitoring, reforecasting and prudent management of the budgets;

**To be successful you will the following certifications**: New South Wales Boating License, First Aid Certificate and a Current White Card, Traffic Controller Card and Implement Traffic Controls Plan Card
Previous experience in the boating industry; Coxswain's Commercial Boating License and good level of IT proficiency (e.g. Microsoft Office package and marina software) is desirable.
You will have thorough knowledge of requirements of the Underground Petroleum Storage System (UPSS), Marina Operation Plan and Environmental Manual, and Dangerous Goods and EPA requirements
Demonstrated experience working with vessels, with an understanding of AMSA/RMS and WorkCover obligations and expertise in preparing ongoing management of expenditure budgets on an accrual basis;
Finally you will have demonstrated experience in negotiating and enforcing contracts, A proactive and self-motivated approach and a team player attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team, multitask and adapt to change, and a willingness to be flexible;
