Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator I provides customer service to both internal and external customers, including:
taking customer orders,
providing pricing information,
performing consultative sales,
explaining services and benefits to assist with procurement of capacity,
monitoring service requests and shipments,
generating business leads for the sales organization.
This position anticipates customer needs, suggests alternatives, and resolves issues competently and appropriately.
Responsibilities
Provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service to all customers.
Monitor shipments from order entry to delivery to ensure on-time performance.
Identify customer needs and coordinate with owner operators or outside agents for cost-effective shipment execution.
Support new and existing customer accounts to foster business development.
Assist contractors with critical shipment information via phone and email.
Update customers regarding shipments through various communication channels.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Understand freight handling characteristics and delivery requirements for safety and efficiency.
Identify and communicate business opportunities to the sales organization.
Suggest improvements to business processes and procedures.
Ensure high accuracy in order documentation.
Oversee order creation, load procurement, negotiation, freight tendering, and problem resolution.
Requirements
Education:Bachelor's Degree preferred, experience considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience:1 year industry experience preferred.
Computer Skills:Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred; basic computer skills required.

Work Hours:Generally 1400-2200 hrs with occasional irregular hours.
Travel Requirements:Minimal (0%-25%).
Compensation:Hourly, paid biweekly, with variable components.
